Welcome
to PBS&Js ITS 2013 Vision Paper Series
(continued from page 01...)
Throughout
the series well also examine how ITS will change key transportation
market segments, such as transit, tolls, and airports. Finally,
well look at the broader impacts that ITS has on transportation
planning, transportation agency organization, and national transportation
policy, including homeland security.
ITS
is an ever-changing and evolving field, one that is relatively new
in the U.S. What does ITS look like today in 2003, and what will
it look like in 10 years time? Who will be the key players? What
will be the key milestones? What external factors will influence
ITS and what are the issues and challenges we will face? Ten years
ago the Internet was starting to grow exponentially and has since
had a profound effect on the way we live and work. Can ITS do the
same? Join us in our effort to examine the likely future of ITS
and explore ways in which we can get there as effectively as possible.
